Few days ago I was at Walt Disney Concert Hall early morning, figured why not take a visit and take some good ole photos and make the place look abstract :)

I've used Adobe LightRoom for post processing the images to look like an older expired film feel of it..

Just loved how the clouds sat in the sky for a while to give it a nice separation.

as the day went on, it kind of got warmer due to the endless amount of reflections.

reflective gold.. (not literally gold)

sometimes looking up at the location can bring interesting shapes and curves...

reflection, mirror.. you decide?

just loved how much light was reflecting

(Day 6) Los Angeles Occupy Protest continues...

Hello everyone again!

So couple of days ago (October 7th), I was at Los Angeles, was going there because I had to goto MOCA (Modern Contemporary of Art) at the Geffen Center. It was for a report I had to do for my Contemporary Photo class, since I didn't attended the class fieldtrips, whoops!

At any rate, I went and took some photos at City Hall for Occupy L.A. again! I was there to meet a friend of mine, had a few convos, and then ran into an Anonymous having interesting and nice convos with the person. Having good solid knowledge to interesting points of view of things to share within.

Anonymous ... just because he posed for a photograph, doesn't mean he is "FAKE" Anon. the differences of a "REAL" Anon and a "FAKE" has been a rise of "FAKES" out there in the past week, and I'm just warning to those who don't know this.

Occupy Los Angeles...

Greetings all!

I know it's been a mass long time from my last update and I deeply apologize for that! My life has been busy as always, and been trying to fit my life into back updating my blog much as possible; yet it's been challenging to do so, since I mostly update my photos on my fan page on facebook.

Besides the fact, few days ago on October 1st, I had to wake up wide and early at 5am, to make sure I can make it down to Pershing Square in Los Angeles, I got turned around a few times, ended up walking a good 12 or so miles that day; not that I mind, but was a nice stroll to see L.A. in a quiet manner.

Aside the fact, that day I went and scoped out Occupy Los Angeles protest.. I must say; I had never been to one before, and this was my first experience; I honestly had no idea what to expect for this outcome.

Anyhow; this being said, here are some photographs.

I just loved how this one came out, the catch light in the eye and the sheen green :)

This set up was with 3 lights, 1-green colored gel... I may start a separate series for this set up though, since it came out so strong and beautiful; guess we shall see as time goes :)

Rendondo Beach Pier

I love the Beach Life, especially when it comes to photographing at the Pier during the Twilight Magic Hour. I attempted my first try for doing Panoramic photograph; there was some good challenges, since it was a several photo stitch photo to capture the 180 degrees photo. Jessica (my girlfriend), was the magical wonder who wanted to travel here, so we went fun hazardous to take some awesome fun images!

It was a windy sunset, but the ambience was just too nice to pass up :)

Congratulations to Cyndi and Danny Williams!

My sister recently got married on August 13th on a Full Moon, at Santa Cruz, California at Inn at Pasatiempo (which is spanish for Time passing by). A beautiful garden for an outdoor wedding, it was overcast; but that never challenged me or my girlfriend to endure our photographic abilities to capture the ceremony. Keeping in mind, had a broken lens, had to manual focus the entire wedding; challenging yes, but never gave up :) It was a well deserved ceremony, as well as, a beautiful wedding. It was rare to see my father crying during the first Father/Daughter dance, and just seeing my sister so overwhelmingly happy and my brother-in-law so excited for his own Wedding!

Self Portrait.. the Social Network Experiment

Sometimes I get very intimidated by doing self portraits, but sometimes I don't feel that way, I just feel an urge of creative must take an important role to display of who I am.. I sort of wish I saved a self-portrait I did for my Careers class this semester, however; do have numerous other concepts.

Starting off w/the Social Network Experiment ...

I personally enjoyed the 2nd one, just the edgy and bold impact of the studio lighting quality it gave; thanks to my awesome girlfriend, who assisted in these 2 photographs :)

the next photograph was professionally taken by my Teacher and Mentor Max S. Gerber

Max is an editorial photographer who asides in Pasadena, his works are inspired by the famous Richard Avedon.

I just love the simplicity and the genuine photograph he took of me, it's just awesome :)

Anyhow... next upcoming update will be continuation of my "7 Deadly Sins" series, the next sin would be Wrath.

7 Deadly Sins

Sometimes when capturing a conceptual idea into the mind of unusual oddities, this was my time to show what photography is really all about!

I love to invoke some peoples emotions, by that I mean I love to take a risk in photography and explore what can be occurred in everyday lives to our society..

So my color class for my final project, I had to show a photo of a series of "7 Deadly Sins".. I captured these images by displaying each sin, by each diff. model and studio set-up and outdoors.

Anyhow.. the first Deadly Sin is Pride:

I'll post another sin in the later of the day, so enjoy for the time being :)

I need to keep this more updated much as possible, tons of new content and goodies has been going on.

I completed this school semester at Cypress College. I'm not 100% done with school, just yet; however I am inching away closer and closer of completion :)

But I am proud to say that I was fortunate to have a couple gallery residencies in the past couple of months.

One of them was at the Art Walk in Fullerton, for the United Photographers, thanks to Sam M. Bowers for this wonderful opportunity! Those photos were of my Creative Portraiture! Those 5 were...

Plus, it is the that time of the year again!! 21st Annual Juried Student Exhibition! I was fortunate enough to have 3 pieces up on the wall for this years show, I submitted 10; but only 3 got accepted; I don't mind at all :)

Those 3 pieces were from this past years Electric Daisy Carnival...

I also want to thank most of the staff in the Photo Dept. for Cypress College and Cypress Arts League ...

for one...

Thanks to my wonderful gf for being the backbone for all aspects, I can't thank you enough and I LOVE YOU!!!

Cypress Arts League Scholarship; it is such a privilege and an honor to receive this award, I am looking towards this Saturday, May 15th to accept the scholarship award :) Narrowing down 10,000 or so images in a week (on my Spring Break) down to 24 images, and place them into a portfolio format was the far most challenging thing yet, but that will not stop me to shoot more!! So thank you!!

Also... deep in heart and great pride, taking such a prestigious award scholarship of Jerry Burchfields' Memorial Scholarship. I will admit this was the most surprising one of all. I mean, when I heard my name I was really excited and shocked at the same time... when I went to return my designated spot; I realized what it was from and I started to break down... Thank you Jerry and Mrs. Burchfield, I know you're watching me Jerry, ever since I started shooting, and I know you been around; just small signals and dreams you been encountering with me, it's just been an amazing adventure you been showing me. So thank you!!! really do mean it by far.

Everyone at the Cypress Department and Friends, thank you for all the motivation drive you've been giving me; I can't wait to gain more from you :)

That being said, so that's what has been going on, it's been a wild ride.. in the next few days my blog will be updated.. so keep an eye out!!

Time is Flying Fast...

The set up was taken place outdoor studio, with a white seamless paper, and a reflector card. All natural lighting with pure fun! :)

It's sort of like the works of Richard Avedon sort of approach in photography, but in terms of interesting story telling portraiture - style.

Nightly Gig in the Eyes of a Photographer

Hello all!

This week has flown by quite too fast, almost just about my Friday is here; it just begins at 9:00pm actually, but that my work doesn't stop there. I have a wonderful line up photoshoots to do coming up in the next few days! woo-hoo :)

Ranging from Natural Window Light to Fashion Editorial Like set-up to Eggs (yep as in food shot) to photographing my best friend in a Strife Jacket and then possibly a good Goth twist taking place up in the mountains...

Besides the fact!

I love doing night photography, I forgot how much I miss it and just shooting at the wonderful Magic or Golden Hour, able to capture some wonderful natural lighting and using what light is available, without using any flash. It sort of reminded me of doing photos in Hollywood I did a year ago, that was really fun as well :D

Here are some photos from Downtown Long Beach & near the Queen Mary area; as well as, the Long Beach Pike... enjoy!

Long Beach has all sorts of gems in the City, just have to look really close and hope for the very best results for the photographs. I would've shot more, which I did, but some are just repetitive shots or just not the thing I was looking for.

90th Post for my Blog..

and its been almost a good solid 2 years running as well!

I must say, thanks viewers and new viewers or just strangers who view my photo blog, do appreciate it by far :)

At any rate-- I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far, and tomorrow is just another good week! I got a few photoshoots to do, one in particular for tomorrow, a couple commercialized photo homework to do in the studio, and of course-- a big one on Friday, hoping that goes through fine.

recently, was invited by Amy to do a photoshoot; but not just a photoshoot, it was an open invitation by D.M Gremlin Productions studio, they had an open house couple days ago and I was invited along to do some photos. I got to use awesome Alien Bees light set up, an awesome beauty dish, I can't complain one bit! :D

Besides that, I came out with some pretty sweet looking photos, Amy did all of her make up, hair, and wardrobe, however; D.M. Gremlin Productions did supplied the awesome weaponry ;)

One of my favorites, the color and bold of the attitude was just kick-ass! :)

as you can see, the red edge is from a katana sword, the red edge is from the gel light, and boy, I just love how it looked like blood almost ^_^

she's just awesome, the fierce, amazing daggers ^_^

But anyhow, those were the images, just amazing what an open house invitation workshop can do :) I just loooved how some lighting techniques worked out so nicely ;)

Strangers and Friends

Simply said, strangers and friends. Basically for Portrait Class in Cypress College w/Max S. Gerber (an Editorial & Portrait Photographer) has taught us to talk to strangers and friends, to capture an essence of their body language or face; or whichever shows the mood. It had to be done in b&w with an orange filter.

At any rate-- here is my 6 photos :)

As you can see I added a polaroid border for each image, I figured it gave more depth and character for this set of 6 photos I've taken.

I've got a potential photoshoot to do this Friday, at a Studio in Downtown Long Beach :D It's an open house and hope it goes well.

Bikini Shoot and Wicked Twist

So I've done my first bikini shoot with my awesome friend of mine-- Monica, she did such an awesome job for modeling for the first time. I also gave a short drill and teaching lessons to my 2nd shooter and my good ole friend Shawn. This location was at 3 Arches Bay in Laguna Beach; awesome private beach community. The people were nice and friendly, and the life guard didn't gave us much a bad time either. Thanks again Shawn for giving me this privilege and allowing me to take photos on your share of property ;)

Trash the Wedding Dress!

Simply said.. Trash the Wedding Dress, photoshoot I done with Amy Lunar Siren and Chay :) Amy is a long time old friend of mine, she has been appearing a lot of my portfolio lately and I just feel privilege as much as she asked me last minute to do a shoot w/her and her new friend Chay.

It may appear as if it was an actual Wedding dress, will admit; but it's not; but I do believe it is for Chay ;)

Electric Daisy Carnival Day 1 & 2 Photos

Whoa, I apologize.. I been missing in action; yet again!! I hope everyone is having a wonderful day so far and of course, summer as well!

I was fortunate enough to get a media pass for this years Electric Daisy Carnival; held @ Los Angeles Coliseum / Exposition Park; which took place this year. There was amazing International DJs/Producers ranging from Above & Beyond to Donald Glaude to the amazing Armin van Buuren and the huge Progressive-House-Tech DJ/Producer of Deadmau5. Either way this wicked, fun filled, funkafied beats and pure energy surrounding the entire venue was epic. I truly enjoyed myself, and loved the fact how to have mass effect to take North America's Largest Electronic Dance Event (well over 185,000 attendees showed up total; on both days).

Jogging..

so I started jogging, er well, power walking again. Earlier this year I started eating healthier to become a true Vegan eater. I must admit, it's tough to be a Vegan!

We Looove L.A.!

That's what the word of the day is in downtown Los Angeles, of Figueroa St. and Pico St. for people anticipating for the Los Angeles Lakers Celebration Parade. Jammed filled Subways, filled with fans, non-fans, business men/women heading to work on an early morning commute. It was purify of raw pure energy that is blissfully done in all formations of levels to people to appreciate the Los Angeles Lakers.

So hats off to the Championship of Los Angeles Lakers of 2010.. Congratulations!

So I met Dawn back in CCD (Church Days on Saturday's and she also went to my H.S.). So on day, I asked if her and her fiancee was willingly to do a fun day engagement shoot @ La Mirada Creek Park; they said yes! so I took engaged of this wonderful opportunity w/them. Oh my, what a pleasant and great food this was! I sure and loooved every bite of the food I had! :)

I miss my friends in SoCAL and It's driving me nuts!! But same time, I am trying to keep my mind off of things, and hoping to get some family portrait done of my sister and her husband-- w/her son :) This won't happen till tomorrow though :)

Hello All!! Happy Turkey Leg Day All!

I hope everyone has a warm fulfilled and stomach filling Thanksgiving :)

I also want to make a note of, I am so thankful this year, this year has been a true blessing. I had met a wonderful, talented, out-going, and most patient person ever, I really like her too! But again, she is my 2nd shooter :) It's been lil over 9 months since we've known each other, and today happens to land that day :D

At any rate.. I also want to make a note of, I am back in Monterey :) (Northern California) it's blisterful and wonderful cold fresh air :) I LOVE IT HERE!

looks like the bb (blue bird) wants to come along, but the story behind this is because, Jessica L. my 2nd shooter, has one as well, and she couldn't make it along to this trip.. so I promised her I take some photos of the bb and have some cool shots ;)

I must say, I am very fortunate and lucky to work a talented individual; she has done songs such as Sandy Vee - Dirty Beats feat. Sue Cho (Plastik Funk remix) or Deep Inside by Paul Anthony ZXX 7 & Sue Cho (Jorge Jaramillo Remix)...

Photo Adventure with Avy & Hayley

Hello all! Hope everyone is doing well for this beautiful weekend.

I had an amazing opportunity to work with my good friends Avy and Hayley the other day. I must say, they are amazing and great energetic people I ever met, filled w/many personality and great attitude in many photos I've taken so far of them. Jessica (known as my assistant / 2nd Shooter) was there, first time studio sitting and watching, giving some tips and thoughts about what to do for posing ideas, etc.. which btw I thank her a lot! She did help a bit, and really do appreciate that Avy & Hayley came out as well :)

Carmyn... an Aspiring Actress and Dancer

G'Afternoon/Evening/Night or possibly Morning :)

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend so far, I got some tasty and wonderful images to share with you guys and gals! :)

I did a new photoshoot of this wonderful person, her name is Carmyn and she is becoming an Actress/Dancer/Model, and asked me on Model Mayhem to do some beautiful images of her. Of course I said yes, it won't hurt to get more photos and build my portfolio more.

So that was it ;)

But here is another fun story to share with you wonderful people. Right after taking some photos near end of the shoot, the studio light started to explode, yes EXPLODE! It blew up at least 6 times, the last of the 6 times, it sounded like it literally sounds like an m80 going off. Of course the entire studio smelled like pure plastic-glass fun!

No really! Greg Bumatay's wedding photo class is probably one of the most random spur the moment hands on photography I ever been to, what I mean is, last Thursday (October 22nd, 2009) was awesome. He recently had an actual bride and groom (recent wedded couple) to come out and model for us. I must say, I felt like a paparazzi again!

Anyhow.. thank you Ashley and Scott for modeling! you guys rocked it!! and thanks Greg for this fun fulfilled amazements!

BMW.. VW.. and More! :)

So... about few days ago (a Friday that is), out in the 80 something degree weather, I decided to see if my brother was up for having his BMW, his motorcycle to take photos of-- since he was about done detailing his car :) He said sure, so I brought out the camera and decided to take some fun photographs of his accomplishment detailing.

Anyhow, so I took some photos in front of the patio of the house and garage as well!

At any-rate, those are the BMW+Motorycle Shots I took..

Now about merely a year ago, I decided to take some photographs of my friends, friends VW's. VW GTi hatchback, since they're in some kind of club for SoCAL GTi group. I been meaning to share these photographs, but I been busy, at the same time; lost track of time. These photographs were taken in Fullerton, near some Industrial area. I hope everyone is having a great Monday so far. Enjoy...

Then it started to drizzle on me, when taking this photograph, I was getting worried about my camera and their cars may be impaled by rain...

so of course, waited it out, it did rained, but not as hard than I expected; however, it gave that nice feel to it, the environment as well.

3 of the 4 GTi's since one had to leave, but I just love how this shot came out, the water on the street, the starburst effect on the lights; it just worked great! :)

I was an idiot for this... forgetting my 2nd backup battery; but anyhow, this was the last shot.

I honestly going to admit this, I know these photo's aren't the best or what not because of the hot spots here and there, but it was a worth while of attempting something different and only using natural lighting, since well, flash can make it worse possibly, unless I am in a studio.

Hollyweir... Hollywood at Night-time Photography

So last week Tuesday (well just about a week ago!) I went on a Field-Trip w/my Available Light Photo class to Hollywood! Not just an ordinary trip, it was a night time photography adventure!! I must say, I feel very inspired by having a wonderful teacher (Clifford Lester from Cypress College). I feel so fortunate that I am going to an amazing college that is filled with inspirations by students and from the professor as well. It's just an amazing giggly feeling ever!

Interfaith Food Center...

Hello all again! I hope everyone is having a beautiful weekend so far! I got some wonderful and touching photographs to share with you all. It is from Interfaith Food Center in Whittier. Each Food Bank I've been attending for the Los Angeles Food Bank has been quite a journey and difficult; yet lots of sympathy for doing this kind of work. This kind of work came about because of my Available Light, Photo Class I am taking @ Cypress College.

Hello viewers :)

I hope everyone is having a blessed and good weekend so far. I have some really beautiful, as well as, sensitive material to share with you folks. It's apart of my final too for my Available Light Class, we had a guest speaker came in a couple weeks ago, saying they need photographers to take photos for people receiving food at their Food Bank locations (which was in the heart of Los Angeles, St. Francis Center).

I had never felt so nervous, and overwhelmed with emotions all at once for a while (not that long while) But, a different kind of emotion. I felt and saw in their eyes that they were so blessed and thankful to have people to give and hand out a nice size of food for them. I felt so lost when arriving there, and just, felt speechless really.

I took over 60 photos, I managed 20 amazing photographs and I wanted to share them with you folks.

Wild Schedule Coming up...

Hello there viewers!

I hope everyone had a great week! I know I did, It was filled with random moments of school mixed in with Disneyland fun! :) I been asked to do a Lingerie Photoshoot (well, Fashionshow in that aligned of work, as well as, an after-party) later on end of this month [well Oct 29th to be exact date]. Of course I said yes, so that is my next biiiiiiig project thats coming up and I am pretty excited for it too!

At any rate-- so I went to Disneyland on Wednesday; it was really empty; not literally but it was good enough to stand in lines and not really have to wait to get on a popular ride; such as Space Mountain.

I just want to say this, I wish I had more access to this event, I didn't had a Press Pass for this event because of lack of communication w/the other side of people who were supposed to get it, and allow me to do more photographs. Besides the point, It was a fun, fulfilled, and unique experience. If I had Press-Pass; I would seriously jump on this opportunity again! I did had fun-- same time, it was very exhausting.

San Diego Film Festival was...

An unique form of pure Photojournalism! I will talk about this more as the day progresses or over the weekend, but I just way to say this...

Thanks to Gloss VIP and Hypnotic Realities, for allowing me to be a hired photographer for this great opportunity. Sure there was moments of random fun oddities, but it happens and it was fun, yet tiring.

I also want to say this too, I saw William Shatner walking in with bunch of Security Guards, Sadly; I did not got any full frontal shots due to press issues (will explain this later); got a few from distance shots of him, and profile views of him.. ugh feeling like a paparazzi and something I did not wanted to accomplish...

anyhow, I will share some photographs when I am more done with the photo editing, and other misc. I need to take care of.

San Diego Film Festival is Coming Up...

WOW!!!!!!!

When opportunities rise, I often do try my best to grasp onto it and be grateful for the chance of a lifetime to do something the extraordinary.. Recently I've been asked to participate (well hoping) to take photos for an all day event @ the San Diego Film Festival! OMG! What amazing and exciting news this is. I will be around with Gloss VIP, as well as, shooting for Hypnotic Realities!

Ahhhh! :) So stoked..

Will keep you viewers posted as I gain more info as this week goes on.

But for the time being, today; I have a photoshoot to do of a DJ in downtown L.A. today; its for his Press Release photos and I'm pretty excited. I'll admit though, yesterdays work out of doing 8 miles of exercising is quite tiring and I am tired.. Eep! I did a bike ride down to El Dorado Park, Nature Center; then walked the 2 mile trail. I am feeling like a good ole jello :p

Crystal Cove...

Phew!

I made it.. What a great adventure this was, went and gone to Crystal Cove from 2pm till 7:45pm yesterday. Yesterday had to goto Crystal Cove State Park Beach, with fellow classmates, for a field trip; and it as for the Available Light Class (which is offered by Cypress College, taught by: Clifford Lester).

So I saved Shellee's (thanks by the way, for allowing me to borrow and use your IR Filter!) camera, by maneuvering the ultimate safe mode.. Let me rephrase; if she didn't shouted out a huuge freak wave going to hit me, her Canon 50D would've got owned! Good riddance, I must say, got lucky and just managed to get wet from my knees and below...

Yup so..

At any rate-- we had to take some photographs of unique landscapes, as well as-- possibly attempts of Infrared photography too! I must admit, I feel n00b all over again because it's been a long while since I shot some beautiful landscapes. I must say, I almost felt beyond rusty, a new born photographer again that is.

Meet Lowl, me and my 2nd shooters' stuff animal Owl buddy, but only brought him along because the fact it is an inside joke between her and I, as well as, I thought of her (my 2nd shooter) since she couldn't make it out and see how things were done in this class.

Anyhow! :)

Bingo! Here is one of the spots I found, its a real silky smooth sand, and the break of water coming in.. Truthfully one of my fun and favorites.

My very own and first; attempt of doing IR Photography (Infrared), it requires at least 15+ seconds exposure, a tripod, and just hope the settings came out fine.. Honestly; I did some more things on this shot to give it that look however ;)

Heeeelp! I mean, Kelp anyone? I just loved how I took my sweet time to wait out for the wave to crash in the background, and having the kelp in focus; while the kelp is forming a heart ;)

Let's call it the day, and try to capture something spooky... yet interesting too!

There we go, using the Lens Baby Composer, to capture this shot, had the Seagull in focus, and the rest all blurred-- I just love these lens! :)

Just for giggles-- but it was for extra-credit.. had to capture a mailbox in an unique way.

Simplistic and Classy...

Hello all! I'm sure of most of us has been really busy lately, I know I have been, especially when finding out my K2 Canon is out of batteries and had to run out and buy a pair, for tomorrow's fieldtrip; since I am going to Crystal Cove for a landscape in class fieldtrip tomorrow. Yay! I can't wait...

Anyhow!

So I had a photoshoot with Jenn, She is an experienced model, and does wonderful posing jobs and makes my life, quite easy. I shot well over 145 photos in an hour and a half spree! Goodness, this was a great rush but same time, it was worth it!

I managed to get some lovely images, and she picked out her favorites; Of course, that being said, there was some challenges to fix up and brush up some details.

Remembering Jerry Burchfield...

Hi all!

I'm sure you're wondering who is Jerry Burchfield or those who already do know, that earlier this morning, he has past on. He was battling cancer, and retired from Cypress College earlier this year to find his relaxation.

I remember when I first met Jerry Burchfield, he was an unique, and quite comforting Professor of Cypress College; as well as, mentor and inspiration to look upon to. I remember a year ago; he asked me if I wanted to participate in the students first gallery show; I obviously said yes, and it was a great honor for him to be asking me, it was very overwhelming; but was glad to be apart of it. I love his works he has done before, he was part of the Legacy Project and his Photograms were magical, inspiring, and so unique for us photographers to look at.

I will deeply miss the inspiration, and the days of him seeing my latest works I had to share, I thank you Jerry, for showing me ways indifferently and pointing me the right direction to be different for a photographer. Rest in Peace.. you will be greatly missed.

"Miss Lions World" Maharlika Lions Club ...

Congratulations to Angelina Fuller for being Miss Lions World :)

I was in honor and a great privilege to be her photographer for this special event. It was challenging for me, since I was doing something for a friend of mine that has millions of words and meanings to her for this event. I was nervous; yet excited :) I have met a lot of important people that night, as well as, some new possible clients as well, to do some photographs. I left a good handful of cards scattered all over the event and probably well over 3/4 of the stacks was being taken by some individual or group of people. Yay! ;) This event was taken place in Norwalk, California @ the Marriott Hotel.

A small background, Angelina is one of my good female friends I known for a good few years, maybe more; if that. But she asked me a last minute arrangement if I can give her a hand; obviously I said yes, since it was a lovely and awesome event to take photos for :)

She looked really beautiful for that fine evening. At first I never recognized her, but it soaked in after realizing it was her, after she tapped my shoulder; I was in awe how she looked.

The group shot was a challenge, but I think I did pretty well in my opinion... but here are the princesses. ;)

So I stole Angelina for a little bit and managed one fun shot of her...

Once again, I congratulate you. Well done :)

Gothic Beauty

I tell myself, sure! I love risks and doing something beyond beauty and subtly of something that is really beautiful in all forms... I've recently done a shoot of my 2nd shooter few days ago, she is one amazing best friend and a great photographer as well.

One Spicy Shoot...

Sometimes when we do pin up, we often think; its too risque for people to enjoy this art or possibly; it's just simply, HOT! When a friend of mine messaged me well over 9 months; if not more, ago-- she asked me if I wanted to do a photoshoot of her. I asked her what she wanted, so she gave me a nudge of "Gogo Dancer" or "Pin-up" style, I was unsure of how risque she wanted to be, so sooner or later; upon yesterday, we finally met up and did a shoot.

Itchy Moments..

So a few days ago, I been called up by a good friend of mine. She was asking me if I was up for an adventure. Of course, knowingly me I love doing adventures of a photo-shoot for a good friend of mine. Knowingly it will be hot, possibly humidity too! But who knew that I will forget to spray bug spray on me; to prevent the bug bites... ME! I simply forgot about the bug spray repellent haha. So I received bug bites back of my knees and parts of my thigh, its been a very long time since I been eaten alive by insects!

I did managed some great shots of her. We both ended up going to Santiago Canyon (Oak Canyon Park), we found some amazing oak trees and just worked it from there. My shoes were covered in prickly sharp like thorns, jabbing thru my shoes and socks! I had to toss away a pair of socks because of this.. damn! :p Anyhow, here are some photos; hope everyone has a great weekend!

Old Downey Cemetery

Sometimes when we think death, we often forget of the celebration of someone's life. Often times when we visit Cemeteries, people tend to get nervous because of sacred grounds where the ceased people take rest and tend to freak out at times since there people buried.

I usually tell myself, and my good friend (which is my 2nd shooter), where I went to Old Downey Cemetery a week ago; it is peaceful, it's relaxing to sit down on a bench and talk a little to free thoughts. A place can be called solitude in an unique manner and humble the ones who has past on from mid 1800's. Seeing World War I headstones were pretty amazing, as well as, pre-1900's headstones as well. I do wish I saw Indian Joe's headstone, and makes me wonder, why does it always get stolen or damaged to replace so many? The mystery just lies and stands as is... I do tell myself quietly and thank the souls; for allowing me to take their photos; as well as, get permission. I know it sounds a little nutty; for some those don't understand. I do have a lot of respect for the dead.. so no worries folks ;)

Was a great success!! Me and my 2nd Shooter, Jessica, were managed to get our Press Badges at early morning of 8:00am! Goodness, woke up early at 4:45am just to make sure I can make breakfast on time, since previous night went to bed by 1:15am (only under 3hrs of rest woo hoo!).

We both managed to be on time for Opening Ceremonies at AX, capturing Official Guests of Honor include Yun Kouga, Hiroyuki Imaishi,Daisuke Ishiwatari, Yosuke Kuroda, Moi dix Mois, Toshimichi Mori, Toshiyuki Morikawa, Morning Musume, Yasuhiro Nightow, Atsushi Nishigori, Satoshi Nishimura, Takashi Okazaki and Kari Wahlgren.

We are both thrilled of excitement to see our favorites on stage, while they introduced themselves and thanked to the attendees and AX officials.

Unfortunately; these photos (approx. 200 or so) will not be online till much later on tonight. Apologies for the wait and do hope those who are attending, are having a grand ole time!

AX is Almost here...

Anime Expo starts off tomorrow at 10am for Opening Ceremonies! Today me and my 2nd shooter swung by @ the L.A. Convention Center-- hoping to grab our Press Badges; when we arrived there, we stood outside in the sun, baking, with our goods our shoulders and just hoping to get inside soon. Easily well over 1,000 attendees of Pre-Registered were there today, at least! But its such a beautiful crowd of new and old, amazing enthusiasts Cosplaying portraying their favorite characters from their favorite Anime or Magna or possibly popular Video Games for various gaming consoles.

Sadly, the people did directed us in the wrong direction-- but fear no more.. We did found the place to pick up our Press Badges; however, the downside is that the fact we had to leave early before 6 since my 2nd shooter had to goto her night's class.

This doesn't stop us for going tomorrow again and picking up our Badges! As well as, to cover the wonderful event that is holding for us.

Truthfully; this is just a small tease and taste of photos we have, I know it is not the greatest, however; hence of why the tease ;)

First Day of July already!!?

phew!!

where did the time gone by!?! School starts in a month and 2 weeks or something crazy like that.

Besides the fact, good morning or afternoon or evening, where-ever you are.

Anyhow!

Today's agenda is stop by the Los Angeles Convention Center to pick up 2 Press Pass Badges for Anime-Expo!! It starts tomorrow till the July 5th!

I am sooo excited! I been waiting for this almost 4 months! My 2nd Shooter, Jessica S.L. is super excited as well! This is going to be a huge event for me and her to cover, I am so thankful that she is willingly to accept to be my 2nd shooter really!

I got my business cards all 1,500 ready and made, ready to given to vendors, cosplay, and heck lot more to the convention attendees! My goodness, what a rush upcoming days will be fulfilled of greatness and fun! :)

Electric Daisy Carnival...

aka EDC!

Wow, what a weekend this was! I went to EDC (Electric Daisy Carnival) w/a friend of mine which is now my 2nd Shooter for Euphoria Imaging. There was so many beautiful people, endless beats for the soul to dance to, meeting new people and meeting up with the old; lasers or lights feasting the eyes to be in awestruck. It was taken at the Coliseum in Los Angeles, California.

This years EDC was a for sure moment to remember by. Over 135,000 [90,000 showed on Saturday's 2nd Night] (accordingly to Insomniac Events) is a North America Attendance Record Breaker! DJ's from all over the States and Globe, gathered, united as one, in a good amount of stages set up, to place Trance music to House music to Drum and Bass to Electro.

Headliners such as Paul van Dyk, ATB, Markus Schulz, Infected Mushrooms, David Guetta, Shinichi Osawa, and heck lot more to list! USC Marching Band was there, as entertainment as well. There were free rides to ride on, from Ferris Wheels to Tilt a Whirl, just amazement's festivities!

But damn.

After finding out information about Michael Jackson, people have been filling up their Twitters/Facebook updates left to right about how he is dead or coma or whichever.

But it's really sad to hear, that The King of Pop (Michael Jackson); has died at 3:15pm Pacific Day Time, on Thursday, June 25th, 2009. Rest in Peace Michael Jackson. This source was found at L.A. Times Blog. At once, he can finally rest, no one can give him any sort of crap. He was 50 years old.

Also Rest in Peace, Farrah Fawcett; Charle's Angels actress star. As harsh it may sound, but do not mean to be harmful; but they say stars (movie / music / entertainment related) do come in 3's.

I'll be honest, I am shocked, but not sad. Not happy; but just in awe, that life is so short and things can happen with a blink of an eye of a millisecond.

God Bless to the families who lost great people in their life.

Summer Equinox..

What an Unique Day for Father's Day it was; btw, Happy Father's Day to Single Mom's and Dad's as well as, grandpa's! :) Went to El Torito, for a brunch with my family (dad, mom, brother, and his fiancee)

Besides the fact, I met up with a fellow photo client of mine, Jon Barnes; CEO of LLC. Hypnotic Realities at Redondo Beach Metro Train Station, so we can go and check out Compression, which was a 21+ Event/Club, held @ The Standard Hotel in Los Angeles.

At any rate, I took quite a few photos for this event, It was pretty sweet deal party, in all aspects. Some guy gave me $40 in tip, as well as, $10 additional, for taking photos of him and his friend, for having a grand ole time. I met and networked a lot people, I loved the vibe and aspect to this wonderful outing. I would do this again if time permits me, since it was fun, great drinks, and of course-- music was fun while having the skyline of buildings as the backdrop! and Oh, did I mention there was a pool too?!

Anime Expo is around the corner..

and that means me and my 2nd shooter are going to cover some coverage, as Press Photographers! How Exciting is that?! :) Some little info. about AX (Anime Expo)-- it's a Japanese Anime Convention, that holds yearly and about 100k plus attendees normally come. It is something rather unique, since it has own little sub-culture of Cosplay of people portraying as different various characters. They also got vendors selling Magna, Anime, Cosplay Costumes, and more, this is a sure event something you do not want to miss out. It's in Los Angeles, California-- in the Convention Center.

I also made up some business cards to give out to the attendees, so I can give my photography business a boost in "recognition" and hopefully more!! ;)

In other updates, I took some photos @ Hands Up Los Angeles 3 in L.A. on Friday night. What a night that was, Lee Coombs from the UK was playing, playing an amazing set as always, always delivers with his great music. Swedish Egil, the Groove Radio Legend DJ delivered with oldschool classic songs, such as Paul van Dyk; For an Angel.

Hello again, see I told you ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls; of all ages...

that I will write in and fill in some blanks.

So anyhow, this has been going on lately with me.

School was really tough on me this semester, it wasn't due to my lack of laziness, it was due to motivation and some possibly feeling down (merely depression), its not because of my exgf, or whichever, its simply because life has been tough. With our economy, finding a job is not easy, its rather whacked up in the head and need some coffee to wake up by. But I do feel better, look better (as I age, I'm sure you saw some recent photo of me with white hair, yikes!)

I am very proud to say these updates though, I started exercising again, about 2 weeks now. I have been averaging 3.8miles a day, of power walking each week-day morning and just trying to maintain a healthy balanced diet for my own good and hopefully inspire those who are around me. I also found out that I am pretty much a Certified Photographer now from Cypress College, Honestly, I would never though that would be possible for me to accomplish so much in over times worth and I am just darn happy about it ;)

Anime Expo is around the corner (just about) and I need to get business cards made, I need at least 5,000 of them to get made, I just hope I can make them on time when the time comes around. 2 Press Passes was issued to me, one for me, and one for my 2nd shooter, named Jessica.

Hello viewers!!

Gosh, It's been merely 4 months ago (maybe it already has been) long ago I posted.. so I really wanted to deeply apologize for the delay, and haven't been filling out the blanks why I been missing..

I'll give in some fillers.

1) This past semester w/school, it has been busy
2) Catching up w/Life has been so tough
3) Receiving random news has been depressing me.
4) Trying to capture some new photos has been degrading me, since I been feeling lost >.<
5) Some new photos to share
6) Light Room, proud to say I am loving it after learning so much in little time.
7) Been finding myself in the Rave Scene (you'll see more about this later on ;)
8) New photos to share, stories, and more!
9) I did managed to get 2 Press Passes for Anime Expo this year! This means I am going to cover this event with my 2nd Photographer, which is my good friend and hopefully I'll be attending all 4 days :)
10) Last but not least, I'm still alive!

That is Ms. Summer Hope, a wonderful and beautiful model, I got a decent amount of photos from that shoot, photos will be up rather shortly.

Did someone said, Alcohol? Yup, Lemoncello, an alky drink from the Island of Capri, that was one of my assignments redos I had to do, since the one below is Newcastle and I had to redo the beer one for the better grade, in case you cared; I went from a D to a B for that one :D

The next model, is one of my best friends, literally. I had to create the mood shot for the studio class, and sure enough, I got a supreme A on this fantastic shot!

Another Day of Protest

So, Cypress College and the Vietnamese community decided to roll in with 3 filled buses, about one photograph of Brian Doan's photography exhibit. They been demanding the fact they want this gallery to be taken down, they (the community) is hurting, from these images that Brian Doan took. Truthfully this protest is going way out of control in a peaceful manner, I know that doesn't make any sense-- but to me, its just-- ok people; it is art, we [us photographers] view things differently, and no matter what happens, there is always a thick of some sort of imagery.

Honestly I'm starting to like this photo journalistic photography... its challenging and its like spray and pray-- hoping the right story telling image... suggestions or ideas or tips for this is greatly appreciated.. I am completely n00b at this =P

S.A.D. too...

which is Singles Awareness Day as well!

Unfortunately-- Not trying to make this sound like I'm emo or anything so please; don't think I am. Fortunate though, that my exgf-- called me day before Friday the 13th, asking me if she wants to take me out for dinner. I said yes, since it was a Birthday dinner, we went to El Torito, in the Orange Block, and just had some good mexican food.

Afterwards-- just went to the movies. It was nice, as a friend for her to do this lovely gesture. It's so weird, to be friends an exgf and try not to think of "Stuff to Do" when she is seeing someone for the past 7 months or so. I'll admit it does kill me, but sametime-- I know shes happy with life, so thats good for me because I won't need to worry as much as I used to!

I haven't been single since I was 19 years old! It feels so weird, to be single again, yet, it really opens my eyes up even more, by each day goes by to evaluate myself as a better individual. Don't get me wrong, I do miss having a person to love, cuddle, and have the ability to goto someone and just talk out of planning to do things, just to have fun!! I'll be honest, I have been with well over 6 different young women, ranging from a High School Sweetheart to an Eye Opener to refresh to evaluate life standings of where I am at today...

But multiple dating for the past 4 months, on and off with random women has been interesting, yet so strange to even do that. That is totally not me for doing that-- usually I do is I stick with one person, hope it works out, then go out as a couple. Now-- starting to believe, I honestly don't give a rats ass about if someone tells me, they're not interested in me, then weeks later; they give me a call and tell me what they realized of I been saying is so real, and they just wished that they saw it sooner?

I often rare give someone a chance, but same time, I haven't been. I been often going after my dreams, and focusing with school-- not worrying about a relationship occurrence since my mind is so busy, and truthfully-- most of the people I been dating can't handle the line of work I do. They always complain about how they are prettier women than the person I am or was dating, and just cant handle it.. they just dont understand it is for my portfolio-- not personal enrichment. Le Sigh!!

Updates about my life status:

1] Meeting a Model for a Raport; to gather ideas together and then schedule a photoshoot for her Promo Pieces she needs :)

2] Thursday meeting Aleece again, for a half-day photoshoot! I'm super stoked for this because we're going to be going all over the place in L.A. or elsewhere for fun photo takes! :D

3] Saturday, going to be @ Cypress College Photo Studio to work with a couple [lesbian] I been knowing for a year on n off-- they finally want a photoshoot done, Clown Fetish // Industrial look! This should be very awesome, I'm def. looking towards this!

4] Next week (Feb 23rd) I am doing a photoshoot in the studio, as well as, the 24th too!

PHEW!!!!!!

Definitely going to be busy, and making $$$$ yay!

Controversial is on the Rise w/the School's Photo Gallery

One of the images that is considered as, "...Another thing is some of Brian Doan's photos in this exhibition are obscene and sexual harassment pictures under a woman's eyes. We protest against sexual harassment in an educational instituion."

Accordingly to the protesters, I quote "He (Brian Doan) displays a photo with a girl wearing a flag of the Vietnamese communists (base color red with one yellow star) with a bust of Ho Chi Minh nearby because: That's only a covert propaganda for the Vietnamese communist party's red flag and the personality of Ho Chi Minh!" There is a lot more on here, but that is one of the several paragraphs that the protesters had to share.

So basically; Today @ Cypress College, the local Vietnamese community, had a good fit about the photographs that Brian Doan took. I'm not too great with photo journalism, or typing stories, but from my understanding-- it got pretty serious to the point of the lady (in the yellow hat) wanted to protest inside the gallery, trying to get away with the fact its okay to Protest near the class rooms. Trying to get her voice heard, she did got it heard, but she kept refusing the fact of she didn't want to move at all.

Personally speaking-- Photography is a documentary tool, to capture moments such as these, or to display a modest point of views of life to live by. Allow the controversy to stir; however, once that happens, embrace yourself and your art work to get damage possibly or perhaps-- applaud for making a stand of an entitlement of an formal opinionated thoughts.

Slippery when wet...

Whoa, what a weekend! I mean, last weekend; Saturday (February 7th) it was quite wet outside, then dry, wet, dry, ahhhh! What a risk I just did with my Canon 40D, it started to rain, ended up some very sweet shots of these beautiful, striking, VW GTi & R32, car shots. We photoshoot these cars at a local Orange County warehouse key remote location-- thankfully no cops were called in, or disruptions from the guy who was working inside of the office. Anyhow, enjoy :)

How unusual to see a Sparrow in the Photography Dept. @ Cypress College, I mean; in the photo digital advance lab?? Poor thing was lost and flying all over the place.. I just thought to share this photo, and it was too surreal =P It did some droppings, not on me or the PC's so thank GOODNESS! :) Me and some other student thought it was a mouse roaming in the lab.. so hence why the mouse part.. ((giggles))

OMG!umm... what do you want to know?
(besides I turned 26 years old, feeling like I'm 19, oddly enough, lol)

February 1st, was my Birthday, in case you guys & gals forgotten, or maybe-- been busy which is perfectly okay =) Anyways.. uh; so what do you want to know about this photo?

I mean, the 2 people infront of me and my friend, were being more outrageous than I was with this ridiculous, WOW factor face, and just having a grand ole time!

There is more photographs from Disney, but I simply forgot to bring my dad's memory card, the camera I used that day (instead of my 40D); but more the reason to wait, so I can update this blog more, and let you viewers enjoy the fun & odd photos I have :)

Making scan-o-grams has always a fun thing to do, especially when it comes to special memories or random oddity moments... so I made one up today, it consists of Disneyland moments-- except for the last bottom left corner photos... that in fact, was the night before of my Birthday, when I was 25, there was more photos, since it was on a strip; but I used a couple instead... But maybe I'll scan the entire thing and show it. In case you wondered, James is my middle name, I often use it a lot when I am at home or with friends, long story behind the reasons of why, I do it, and such...

At any rate, hope you guys & gals LOL'd or LMFAO'd or ROFFLED! I truly died of laughing, as well as my folks, siblings, friends, could not get enough of looking at the photograph, since it was that hilarious.

Can't pass up the free ticket you know!!? =) Anyways, I'll post some before and after photographs when I can... maybe some Disney photos too; if I am ever want to bring my Camera along or what not; erm.. :)

Another Day with Lunar Siren

Wow! It's been 4 months since I last time worked with Lunar Siren, and this time; we went to Seal Beach! Gosh; I must say, every time I work with her, she is a wonderful model as well as a great friend who has amazing patience for taking portraits of her. I must admit, she has a look I really dig; and truthfully-- she denies me all the time, but she agrees with me after a silly, random, blur awkward moment... ;)

Taking pictures of people, is slowly starting to shape up for me, and I am actually starting to like it more everyday, as the time goes by.. I am very grateful and pleased; to have friends whose willingly to give me the time for the world to work with and just able to be myself, while they just be themselves too at the same time :D

Some exciting news!! If you see the image above, I am just stoked and really happy to say, that Euphoria Imaging blog, is finally being visible if you search it! If having trouble reading the screen shot-- basically it says; if you search Euphoria Imaging, I'm on the 2nd results of the search on Google! If you see a Model Mayhem, MySpace, & DeviantART, that is me as well! I was way too excited to pass this up for my exciting news...

In the photography world :)

Here is the photoshoot I did with Rachel; she is a professional make up artist, as well as a great facial beautician; she owns her business for a while, and she just loves to work with people. At any rate-- I did a photoshoot of her for her portfolio and website. So I collaborated a small quick fix up collage; just to get have something going temporarily.

I used mostly natural available light, except for the photograph on the upper right hand corner which was done with an Canon Speedlite EX 580 II w/50mm 1.8 lens :) We mainly shot @ La Mirada Creek Park, which is a sweet location for open shade and wonderful golden lighting ;)

Eek! Feeling a Bit Under the Weather

Hello everyone!!

Hope everyone is doing great so far.. knowingly me, I was lucky enough to get sick, finding out my dad's PC is pretty much crapped out, and we all know with the digital age-- its important to have a computer.. ergh..

at any rate--

I just wanted to inform my readers, photographers, aspirations, friends; whoever reads my little ventured blog =) that I don't have a PC, I am still sick.. I do have wonderful new work to share-- but it'll take over time for me to update, so please; be patient. :D

So heres some updates:

*Did a photoshoot for a friend, whose a professional Make-up Artist. :)
[that should be up sometime tomorrow or so]
*Did an another photoshoot a model, with Lunar Siren at Seal Beach :)
*Been asked to do a Press Photoshoot for a DJ friend of mine; named Thee-O and those photos will be used for Club/Rave flyers for his upcoming events, and for his web-page as well :)
*Suicide Girl photoshoot sometime next month..

Once Upon a Time...

There was a Fairy named Dakota Ridgefield, a friend, a model, whose very unique, beautiful, and creative in all aspects of living life to its fullest!

At any rate, Dakota called me up almost a month ago; months planning of to do a Photoshoot.. I was telling over over text messaging, we should wait it out, and wait for my Lensbabies composer lens to come in, since they were sold out. These lens kick so much ass, they give a wonderful surreal feel to portraiture, and makes it more creative and fun to work with =)
